Mindful self compassion course adults in Nanaimo
Mindful Self compassion has been scientifically proven to be most effective for stress management and resiliency. Thank you to Victoria Pawlowski and Carolena Ranger for facilitating this course. I am forever changed and grateful for the strategies I learned in the 8 week course! A life changing moment for me. I was so inspired by this course that I decided to get trained to offer the Teen Course of MSC called Making Friends with Yourself for teens.
Check out their website if you are interesting in developing some concrete strategies that will help you with life!

Mindfulness for Families – May 24th 6:30-7:30 pm at Quarterway School Library
Want to bring Mindfulness in to your home and family? Learn hands on science based techniques to calm the mind, fall asleep, and increase resiliency. Dominique Sullivan is a teacher-librarian in Sd 68 and has been a yoga teacher since 2003. The presentation is free or by donation and welcomes individuals and families. (no daycare available)
Life has its ups and downs; mindfulness allows us to meet those challenges with more grace and compassion.
This session will focus on the research by Dr. Kristen Neff and Dr. Chris Germer as well as resources and techniques from the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education.
Spring is almost here!
I can’t wait to start yoga outside this year. I have been teaching for 15 years and there has been a rejuvenation of my yoga practice as I took time for myself this year. The study of self compassion has been deeply healing and many of these concepts will be woven into the classes. The science of wellbeing is a fascinating area of research and I have sent much of 2017-2018 in inquiry. I attend the Dalai Lama Conference, Victoria yoga conference and Teacher training for Teens and I’m excited to share the latest science and research with my community.
New this year:
- Yoga for everyone- Loud music, more physical style of yoga that is open to the whole family and those who are young at hear.
- Teen Yoga- for stronger bodies and minds. ( No adults allowed)
- Making Friends with Yourself: A Mindful Self-Compassion Program for Teens (Fall)
